The gift of GRATITUDE.

Posted by meggles83

There is science behind the art of “gratitude.” Practicing the art of “gratitude” reminds us of what life truly is all about…In essence…gratitude opens avenues to physical, psychological and spiritual growth in ways that ‘day-to-day’ practices simply don’t unleash…https://www.tonyrobbins.com/health-vitality/benefits-of-gratitude/…

I believe that gratitude makes the world go round and reminds us how blessed each of us truly are.

GRATITUDE…to pause and notice and appreciate…what we take for granted…the magic in life that are the small acts that really matter…the fundamentals that allow us to have breaths, feel loved and secure…

GRATITUDE provides us a light of positive energy that allows us to emerge out of the depths that tend to consume us in the midst of being surrounded in a world that never shuts off…in a world that appears to be perfect on social media…or seems to be completely backwards on the news…and yet…the reality is…what is ‘truth’ is truly never broadcasted in the light that allows us all to understand there are many flaws as well as the extreme beauty that we should all pause and be beyond grateful for.

Every day I write in my gratitude journal. It is a practice that has been instilled in my life for over three years now…one that was developed out of a necessity to remind myself what the gift of life truly was about…to bring me back to faith…to bring me out of depths (and still does to this day)…It is a practice that brings to light the gifts I am surrounded with daily…even when life tests you beyond measure.

I recently got introduced to a woman who has gone through similar trials in life that I went through many years ago. One of my best friends connected us…and I think she waited to connect us until the time was right…and when I say that God told her the time was right, I guess he just knew. She had words of “compare” and “not enough” and “not fair” and “why me”…and I felt that. I felt it all because I sat in her depths for years…and yet I had very few words I could offer. And all I offered is…YOU ARE ENOUGH. Be grateful for what you have…for what you wake up to…and try as hard as you can to not compare. What you have is what you are meant to have…even though it feels unfair and it feels like you are giving it your all when some don’t put in near the effort or are not good humans or don’t really want it…so I get it…it is hard…I told her…with all her might…try to be GRATEFUL for YOU. For what you have it ENOUGH.

I told her…I am grateful. Even on days when I find it impossible to find that gratitude, I remind myself I have been beyond blessed.

I am grateful for…my health. My circle that shows up. Love. Hope. Faith. E&T. The success I have had in my career and the security I have to afford safety, security, food, shelter…I am grateful for all the experiences I have had, as each of them has taught me something. I am grateful for me, my strength and my ability to realize now…I am enough.

Just today…I am grateful for coffee with hazelnut creamer (yep…simple things!)…giggles of children…love from my girlfriend in Dallas who is my rock sitting with me as we prepared to have our loved ones over for Thanksgiving…my work community solving problems together for our customers…my children that remind me to have patience…ability to give to those less fortunate so that they can have a warm meal…Today I am grateful. I am beyond blessed.

SO…tonight…or today…or whatever time of day one might need a reminder…here are two…of why GRATITUDE is the essence of making the magic of life ‘work’…

“You will end up where you belong. So don’t worry too much about what you’re going through. Learn from it but don’t dwell in it. Feel it and then…let go. What’s yours will find you. No matter what happens. Everything you deserve will come to you. It will manifest. You’ll see. Whether it be love. Personal growth. Knowledge. Friendship. Moving on. Healing…etc…Whatever it may be will come to you…it will find you. And stay with you. No matter what.”

“If you carry one thing with you today…let it be this: you are BRAVE. you are BEAUTIFUL. you are STRONG. you are SMART. you are LOVED.”

Today…and always…be GRATEFUL. Because LIFE…is something that we should all be grateful for…every single day…every single moment…
