…Optimism. It is not a superficial attitude. It is not something to be taken lightly. It is not something that just occurs. It is a very muscular attitude. It is bold. It is an attitude that says…NO MATTER WHAT. I WILL and I CAN find a way…
Each day we wake, we have a choice. Will the first moments of what we do create a glass that is full or create a glass that is already being drained before the day even begins…? We have a choice on how we frame up the day…how we frame our mindset. Don’t get me wrong…life is beautifully hard. Every day has presents unique and different opportunities and challenges. Everyday, we still wake with the past…with our scars…with our brilliant failures. Everyday we wake, we also realize we are still alive and breathing. Each day we have the opportunity to make each day the best of our life.
How you choose to see things, embrace them, and be impacted by them matters. It is a conscious choice. And yes…some days are easier than others to find that optimistic approach…other days, damn, it is difficult. That’s called being human. And what comes with being human is to choose…whether we are going to try…to embrace smiles…to fuel our passion…to find new smiles and new ways of doing what we do…so that we life this life to the fullest.
CHOOSE. We have a choice to prioritize optimism. To prioritize that which makes us smile. To prioritize saying ‘no’ to BS. To that which does not allow us to be the best version of ourselves.
LEARN. We have to learn what this means. Write it down. What does optimism mean to you? Build it into your muscular memory.
PRACTICE. We have to practice it. Like anything, if you don’t practice, it fades. If you don’t make it a daily habit or ritual it fades.
In the path of life…optimism allows for anything to become possible. It allows you to travel down the paths no one has gone down…it allows you to embrace the uncertainty and fear with a badass smile…it gives you strength you need to continue becoming the best version of yourself…it creates opportunity…it enables new experiences to be met with breath and grace. And it says to anyone that wants to get in your way and tell you that you can’t that YOU CAN.
As I often say…#anythingispossible…you just have to change the way you think about it. And in this journey and game of life…it is too short to not choose the smile. Today…and always…choose OPTIMISM. Go spread the smiles.
