Just for Today…

Just for today…I do my best to live in the moment. I will not be consumed by ‘yesterday’ or obsess about tomorrow. I will focus on the small acts that make the biggest difference. I will be mindful I cannot accomplish all my goals and dreams at once, but with each positive, small step I am closer to them. I know that no matter what the day brings, I can focus on and embrace it for 24 hours. I know not all days will be what I woke up and planned them to be, and I will accept what comes and go to sleep knowing I showed up the best I could.

Just for today…I will focus on a happy mindset. I will do my best to acknowledge on thoughts that depress or overwhelm me. If my mind fills with clouds, I will use my tools I have learned to chase them away and regain the sunshine that is always present. I will show unconditional love to those I love, without expecting anything in return.

Just for today…I will accept what is. I will always own reality and yet never forget my wants and dreams. I will correct what I am in control of correcting and accept those I cannot.

Just for today…I will improve and ‘water’ my mind. I will read something that requires effort, thought and concentration. I will not be a mental loafer nor be consumed with the media and social platforms.

Just for today…I will make a conscious effort to be truly focus and be present. I will be kind and courteous to those who cross my path. I will assume positive intent and do my best to not speak ill of others, as I will remember to be the bigger person. I’ll focus on doing one kind thing for myself – physically and mentally – to ‘improve’ my appearance. I will speak with trust and respect and remember God gave us two ears for a reason, to listen when others need to be heard. Just for today, I’ll refrain from improving anybody except myself (well…other than my children…and offering them love…).

Just for today…I will do something positive to improve my health. I’ll eat healthy, in moderation. I’ll get off the couch and take a brisk walk event if it’s only around the block. I will do something that makes me better than I was yesterday.

Just for today…I will gather the courage to do what is right and take responsibility for my own actions. I will be grateful for all I have.
