Hallelujah for Gratitude.

Posted by meggles83

Last night was filled with soul-filling energy, musical genius, and the ability to sit and soak in the holiday magic. My favorite Christmas song was finally sung…Hallelujah.

Now I’ve heard there was a secret chord…That David played, and it pleased the Lord…

But you don’t really care for music, do you?
It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth…The minor falls, the major lifts. The baffled king composing
Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Your faith was strong but you needed proof…

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Maybe there’s a God above…but all I’ve ever learned from love…was how to shoot at someone who outdrew ya…and it’s not a cry that you hear at night…it’s not somebody who’s seen the light….

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

I am not sure whether it is the lights, the crisp air, the twinkle that some ‘walk with’ during this time, or simply that, in some way/shape/form, there is a cohesiveness to society to this time…as we take time to have gratitude for all that the year has provided. And let us be remember we are able to have this time…and it has nothing to do with presents…it has to do with what has been sacrificed before us and traditions that have been formed to protect, provide peace, and create magic for us to continue to have faith, hope…and have GRATITUDE for that. Wow, how amazingly special this gift we have been given.

In 2020 I wrote “Hallelujah for Hope”https://mhw83.com/hallelujah-for-hope/.

In 2023 I wrote “Hallelujah for Faith” – https://mhw83.com/hallelujah-for-faith/

This year…GRATITUDE felt like the right area to focus on.

6 years ago I started a daily tradition, a gratitude journal. It has become a habit engrained in my life that when I miss a day, I notice myself feeling ‘off.’ It is a habit that grounds me and reminds me…with gratitude, we can achieve anything, overcome what is the obstacle in front of us, and be grounded in what truly matters.

2024 was a beautiful year, a complex year, a hard year having to say goodbye to one of my dearest friends, and a joyful year as I have watched E&T, C2 and my ‘framily’ thrive and continue to grow. It was a year filled with defining moments, moments that tested my heart and mind, and moments that truly made me want to scream “Hallelujah.” 2024 was like a beautifully composed song, that has a beautiful melody, layered with complexity of depth that is the beautiful thing about life…

It is the simplicity that draws us home, what we strive for more and more every day as we get older…and yet we exist in a society and with facets of life that require going through the depths and complexities. Without all the layers, we would not be able to remind ourselves of GRATITUDE.

GratitudeNoun. The state of being grateful. The feeling or quality of being grateful. Thankfulness.

GratefulAdjective. Showing or expressing thanks, especially to another person.

2024. I am grateful for what you brought and provided. I am grateful for the unconditional love from those in my village who are my rocks. I am grateful for LOVE. I am grateful for moments that provided soul-filling smiles. I am grateful for the tears and hard-times, as they brought clarity and learnings that make me stronger. I am grateful for STRENGTH. I am grateful for health, especially my kids and ‘framily.’ I am grateful for all of what 2024 gave to me and my family. I am grateful for ADVENTURE, bucket-lists, and all the busy-ness that provided such beautiful moments of GRATITUDE.

The older I get the more I realize what ‘beauty’ of life really is about – and what an insane gift it is.

Hallelujah for HOPE.

Hallelujah for FAITH.

Hallelujah for GRATITUDE.

Signing off until 2025, filled with hope, faith and GRATITUDE. Happy Holidays All.
